Botox® & Anti-Wrinkle Treatments

The purpose of anti-wrinkle injections is to offer a non-surgical and minimally invasive solution to improving and maintaining the appearance of your facial skin. This anti-wrinkle reduction procedure works best for wrinkles caused by muscle overactivity, such as forehead creases, frown lines and crow’s feet.

Over time lines develop on your face because of factors such as ageing, gravity and poor nutrition and hydration. They are also caused by repeitive muscle movements such as smiling and frowning. Some may love their frown lines, whilst others may want to minimise their appearance as much as possible. This is where anti-wrinkle injections can help.

Anti-ageing injections create a natural-looking improvement of unwanted expression lines, fine lines and wrinkles. Over time, repetitive movements such as smiling, squinting and frowning can cause creases to form on the skin. In order to prevent this from happening, and treating existing lines, anti-wrinkle injections can be used to ease muscle movement and aid the appearance of smooth, wrinkle-free skin.

  • Anti-ageing injections are used to treat dynamic lines that form repetitive movement
  • The treatment can help relax muscles and therefore give a youthful, fresh appearance
  • With regular treatments the skin cells are protected from the stress of repetitive creasing and are then able to regain thickness and return to a smoother state
  • Treatment can treat wrinkles that have forms over time, but can also be used as a preventative measure
  • Results vary for every individual, and our Aesthetic Nurse will discuss expectations and outcomes during a consultation
  • Can also be used to manage conditions such as teeth grinding, migraines and hyper

To treat wrinkles we use a product called botulinum toxin, botulinum toxin is a protein that is used to treat fine lines and wrinkles in areas such as the forehead and around the eyes, it’s use can also prevent new wrinkles from forming . Botulinum toxin injections work by blocking the nerve signals to certain muscles, this in turn causes the muscles then become more relaxed, thus reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the skin

Botulinum Toxin A (Botox) is a neurotoxin made by bacteria Clostridium Botulinum. Botulinum Toxin is purified for clinical and cosmetic use. Botulinum toxins are subdivided into 7 stereotypes by their differences in potency and duration of action. Botulinum Toxin type A is the most potent of stereotypes and there for is used for many medical procedures for conditions like Migraines, cervical dystonia, overactive bladder, crossed eyes and many others as well as for cosmetic purposes including Botox helps with a range of ageing and aesthetic issues, including: smoothing fine lines, reduce wrinkles, lifting heavy brows and upturning mouth corners.

There are very few side effects following treatment and essentially no downtime involved. Bruising can occur but is generally very mild and can be easily covered with make-up.
