Consultant-led Dermatology, Surgery & Skin Care in Wiltshire
Cotswold Surgical Partners is a Consultant-led and Care Quality Commission regulated provider of NHS and private Dermatology, Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic procedures in locations across Wiltshire for adults over 18 years old. This includes an NHS community-based skin surgery & dermatology service, commissioned by both NHS Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board and NHS Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board. We also support NHS skin surgery patients referred from the Great Western Hospital in Swindon, North Bristol NHS Trust and Gloucester Royal Hospital.
Our History
Cotswold Surgical Partners (sometimes referred to as CSP) was founded back in 2011 by our three directors, two being Consultant Plastic Surgeons, Umraz Khan and Nick Reynolds and by a Consultant Dermatologist Dr Thomas Millard. All three continue to be active in not only overseeing the service and direction of the practices but seeing and treating patients in our clinics. We are delighted to be a Care Quality Commission regulated service.
CSP was originally based at Tetbury Hospital in Gloucestershire (hence the name) and delivered surgical skin cancer and dermatological services for Gloucestershire CCG (clinical commissioning group). Working in partnership with Tetbury Hospital Trust, we carried out skin cancer services for the region until 2019. In 2017/2018 we developed a new service in partnership with the (then named) Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group based in Spa Medical Centre in Melksham.
In 2019-20 it became clear to us that the demand and need for services was growing beyond what is available locally. Our aim has always been to provide ‘Quality Care, Locally Delivered’ and so in 2020 Royal Wootton Bassett was chosen for our first Cotswold Surgical Partners’ purpose designed and built practice with Shawn Warren-Willcox as the General Manager. The practice was formally opened on 31st July 2021 once we had obtained CQC approval and welcomed our first patients in the December of that year.
Our new facility houses two fully functioning day case operating theatres and five clinic rooms suitable for outpatient and minor operative procedures, ensuring that we can continue to offer a skin cancer diagnostic and treatment service, whilst also expanding our range of services and treatments to meet the growing needs of our patients locally. As our main centre, the majority of our patient care takes place here.
We are pleased to continue working alongside Spa Medical Centre in Melksham, where we provide NHS dermatology and skin surgery services on behalf of NHS Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board for patients who live in West Wiltshire.
