Matthew Potter is a Plastic Surgical Consultant based in Oxford with a NHS practice in head and neck skin cancer and head and neck reconstruction. He has private practices at Stratum, The Manor Hospital, Oxford as well as here at Cotswold Surgical Partners in Royal Wootton Bassett alongside The Ridgeway, Swindon on alternate Monday’s.
Matthew has a well-established practice in the management and treatment of major skin cancers to the head and neck as well as Melanoma and Merkel cell cancer of the Head and neck.

Matthew undertakes facial aesthetic surgery including;
- Face lifts,
- Neck lifts
- Upper and lower eye lid rejuvenation surgery
- Brow elevation surgery
- Botulinum toxin injections
- Fat filling rejuvenation to the face
- Fine line/ wrinkle fat filling
Matthew also undertakes breast rejuvenation surgery as well as abdominal rejuvenation surgery.

Qualifications & History
Matthew graduated from University College London. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and completed his training in all aspects of Plastic Surgery at;
1. Mount Vernon Hospital, London
2. Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury
3. Oxford University Hospitals, Oxford
4. The Royal Brisbane and Princess Alexandra Hospitals, Brisbane, Australia
He was awarded his FRCS(Plast) in 2009. He became a consultant in Oxford in 2011. In 2005 he was a made an Huntarian Professor (Royal College of Surgeons, England) for his research into artificial skin and scar/wound healing.
Matthew has undertaken specialist Fellowships in;
1. Skin cancer surgery
2. Head and Neck surgery (benign and malignant)
3. Aesthetic Surgery
Matthew is a core member of the skin cancer Multidisciplinary meetings in Oxford and Swindon as well as the Head and Neck cancer and Skull base cancer Multidisciplinary meetings in Oxford. He is a Member of the Thames Valley Skin Cancer Specialist Group. He is the lead for clinical governance and safety for Head and Neck Surgery in Oxford.
Matthew is registered with the GMC and is on the specialist register for Plastic and Reconstructive surgery. He is a member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and the British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists (BAHNO).
Matthew aims to provide care of the highest quality. He maintains this quality by regular audit of his outcomes as well as visiting, presenting and undertaking research with other surgeons both nationally and internationally. He regularly publishes his outcomes and techniques as a means of informing others of his results and providing transparency of his work for his patients. Matthew doesn’t work as an isolated surgeon. Where appropriate he works in teams to provide patients with specialists that provide overlapping skills to meet all his patients needs.
When not working Matthew enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He enjoys cycling, jogging and Karate.

It’s important to be aware, that when registered with a Private Consultant Plastic Surgeon or Dermatologist, you remain their private patient throughout your care, and not of Cotswold Surgical Partners direct. These Consultant Plastic Surgeons and Dermatologists have been granted ‘Practising Privileges’ to practice from Cotswold Surgical Partners’ Care Quality Commission accredited and regulated skin care centre and are clinically responsible for your care, with the appropriate indemnity cover as a completely separate entity.
Cotswold Surgical Partners will assist in liaising between yourself and your named Private Consultant Plastic Surgeon to arrange appointments, assist with any queries and facilitate any follow-ups required providing a clean, safe and welcoming facility.
